MARIO PLACIDI - Expedition leader

A lifetime adventurer, Mario has made a lifestyle out of his passions. Inspired by his values of freedom and love for our planet, he lives his lifelong dream of exploring our world’s remote regions. At the age of 24 he earned a Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan.

Further education at the University of Svalbard gave him the title of Arctic Nature Guide. Since 2015 he guides and leads expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

Among his adventures were a close up meeting with a polar bear, the solo climb of a mountain peak of 7000 m, the crossing of the Southern Patagonian ice field and 30,000 km hitch-hiking in South America. Climber and mountaineer, he is also a paraglider pilot.
