Faces of the Polar World - Shirley Metz

Expedition cruises are about much more than simply spending time in remote and wonderful wild places. They are about deepening our understanding of the world we live in. When you travel to Antarctica for the first time, you are awestruck by the enchanting landscapes, tidewater glaciers and rugged mountains. The panoramic views can be a humbling reminder of just how big our planet actually is.

The preservation of the polar regions for future generations to come is a widely discussed topic on a global level. But it's the little things we do at home that can actually make a difference. A special guest on board Poseidon Expeditions' m/v Sea Spirit, Shirley Metz talks about Antarctic conservation. She is in the Guinness Book of Records as the first woman to ski overland to the South Pole in 1989. Thirty years later, she shares her own experiences and views on climate change.
