Poseidon Expeditions: £100 Donation for Each Passenger to Support South Georgia Conservation
With over 450,000 breeding pairs of king penguins, 400,000 southern elephant seals, up to 6 million fur seals and a resurgence of blue whales around the island, it’s hard to believe that South Georgia was once a prime spot for hunters from all around the world. Aiming to further preserve this nature refuge for future generations, we at Poseidon Expeditions, in partnership with the South Georgia Heritage Trust, are launching a new project to enhance conservation efforts for this unique ecosystem.
From July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, Poseidon will donate £100 (or equivalent) to the South Georgia Heritage Trust for every booking made on our Antarctic Wildlife Adventure cruises featuring South Georgia. These contributions will support essential conservation efforts, scientific research, and the maintenance of the South Georgia Museum.
Poseidon's expeditions to South Georgia are more than just cruises; they are true Antarctic wildlife adventures. Travelers from around the world join us each year, learning about South Georgia’s wildlife, nature and history. With onboard lectures, citizen science projects and workshops, we support environmentally sustainable visits to the island.
