Serena Yuan - Ornithologist

After studying at McGill University in Montreal, she was offered to work as a translator for a tour group for a free trip to Antarctica.

Not surprisingly, Serena fell in love with Antarctica and quickly traded her job at a big firm for a position in polar travel and pursued her master degree in biology. For over a decade since, her polar travel has taken her on over 50 expedition trips to Antarctic Peninsula, Ross Sea, Atlantic and Pacific Sub-Antarctic Islands, Svalbard, Greenland, Russian Arctic and Russian Far East.

Specialized in seabirds especially albatross, she considers the Southern Ocean her second home and there is nothing she loves more than sharing her passion and knowledge of this area.
