Since 1999, we have remained committed to authentic polar expeditions, exceptional service and meaningful exploration in some of the world's most extraordinary environments. While ships may change over time, our core values remain constant.
Poseidon has never been defined by a single ship. It has always been defined by the people behind it, the spirit of exploration and the experiences we create together with our guests. Every vessel that has been part of the Poseidon journey has played an important role in shaping who we are today.
For more than a decade, Sea Spirit has been at the heart of the Poseidon experience, welcoming guests from around the world on extraordinary expeditions across the polar regions. She is home to our outstanding international expedition teams and to the friendships, discoveries and lifelong memories created on every voyage. Her legacy, along with everything we continue to learn aboard Sea Spirit today, will help shape the next generation of the Poseidon experience.
A new expedition vessel is expected to enter service with Poseidon in late 2028. It will not mark the beginning of a new story, but the next chapter in one we have been writing for decades. Our goal is to create the next generation of the Poseidon experience while preserving everything our guests have come to know and value.
As one of the pioneering companies dedicated exclusively to polar expedition cruising, Poseidon has continuously refined the expedition experience aboard purpose-equipped vessels. We combine destination immersion, meaningful time ashore and in Zodiacs, outstanding international expedition teams, personalised service and comfort on board.
This experience, together with the expertise of leading shipbuilding and industry partners, is shaping a vessel developed specifically for Poseidon Expeditions around our expedition philosophy, operational requirements and guest experience. The new vessel will incorporate smart solutions across three key areas: expedition operations, guest comfort and the overall experience at the destination.
The result will not simply be a new expedition ship — it will be a vessel purpose-built to bring the Poseidon philosophy to life while preserving the DNA our guests have known and valued for years.
Our commitment remains unchanged: authentic expeditions with a focus on the destination, exceptional expedition leadership, personalised service, operational excellence and genuine exploration of the polar regions.
There is still much work ahead, and we look forward to sharing further details about the vessel in September 2026.
In the meantime, Sea Spirit continues her programme of polar expeditions, with different voyages offering a particular focus on photography, wildlife and immersive exploration across Antarctica and the Arctic.
