Live broadcast: Antarctic Cruise (13.02-24.02.2015). Day 2
February 14th, 2015
In the morning after breakfast, many of our fellow travelers set off sightseeing around the Arakur Resort. At 16:00 a bus picks us up at the Arakur and delivers us to the pier, where we board our vessel the Sea Explorer for the first time.
At the welcome briefing we were told about the safety features and protocols of the ship and the rules of conduct in Antarctica – travel and observe, but don’t leave behind anything but a piece of your heart. Similarly, we weren’t to bring anything from Antarctica back with us except for photos and memories.
All the travelers were given red polar parkas designed to protect us from wind and water during the cruise and landings. These parkas were specially designed by the expedition and operations teams of Poseidon Expeditions for polar cruising, so they are ideally suited for the task at hand.
After returning to the cabin after dinner, tasty Valentine sweets shaped like a heart were awaiting everyone.
