Anthony Smith - sculptor and photographer
Anthony is an award-winning photographer and sculptor from the UK. His work has taken him all over the world but there is no place he likes better than the polar regions, having spent several months living and working in both the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, as well as enduring -37 degrees in the middle of the Arctic winter photographing the northern lights.
Anthony specialises in photographing and sculpting wildlife and he uses his travels and his background in zoology as an inspiration for his work. He also sculpts human figure statues, especially those of great scientists and adventurers such as Charles Darwin, Alfred Russel Wallace, and Carl Linnaeus. His bronze sculptures can be found in institutions including Cambridge University, the Natural History Museum of London and Amsterdam Royal Zoo, and his photographic work has appeared in publications by National Geographic and BBC Wildlife.
